The little prince

Window Studio Front 2025/26

This paper sculpture is made from thousands of tiny pieces cut from medication boxes I collected over seven years.

Seven years of injections.
Hundreds of needles.
Countless blood tests.
More IVF protocols than I can remember.
Antibiotics, hormones, procedures, scans, and endless waiting.

There were moments when I questioned everything.

The financial cost was enormous, but the emotional cost was even greater. After my experience with my third fertility clinic, I was left carrying trauma that stayed with me long after the appointments ended. I almost gave up.

Then everything changed.

I was introduced to the doctor who restored something I thought I had lost—hope.

Over the following two years she guided us with compassion, patience and honesty, and eventually I was holding my beautiful, healthy baby girl.

This sculpture isn't about telling anyone to "keep trying."

It's about something much more important.

Find the path that feels right for you.

Find the doctor who listens.
The clinic where you feel respected.
The people who make you feel safe enough to ask questions and trust your instincts.

Because every journey is different, and no one should ever feel pressured into someone else's version of hope.

Motherhood does not define a person's worth.
Whether your story ends with a child, a different dream, or a different life altogether, your value has never depended on the outcome.

Looking back, I don't regret my journey. It shaped who I am today, even though I wouldn't wish its hardships on anyone.

If there is one thing I hope people take away from this piece, it is this:

Always trust your gut.
The right doctor won't just treat your body.
They will care for your heart, too.

Every tiny piece of paper in this sculpture once represented another injection, another appointment, another difficult decision.

Today, they no longer tell a story about medication.

They tell a story about hope.

As The Little Prince reminds us:

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye."

Perhaps that's why this artwork isn't really about IVF.

It's about love.
